Fun Facts:
Poland uses clams and mussels to test how clear the water is!
Clams are known to be very sensitive and only open their shells slightly in order to feed. If the water quality deteriorates, the clams close their shells to isolate themselves from the contaminated environment. That automatically triggers an alarm and shuts down water supply while scientists perform laboratory tests.
Lewis Carroll, the author of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," was born on January 27, 1832. (check today’s date - the fun part)

Photograph of the day:
For a few months of the year, a large number of Siberian seagulls migrate to various parts of India. One of them is Yamuna Ghat in Delhi. The birds start coming in here in November and move out till mid-March.
Surprisingly, the food the gulls love to eat here is “Namkeen”, a fried Indian snack. A boat with a few large packets of namkeen goes in the river and then with one shout of “aaoo”, the gulls come rushing from all directions and a cacophony reverberates. And this cycle repeats with every new packet of namkeen. This goes on all morning until the birds are well fed and the rest.
