Let's dive in…
Trivia’s:
1. Literature:
This renowned Indian writer made history as the first and only woman to receive the Sahitya Akademi Award for a work in Punjabi in 1956. She is best known for her powerful poem "Ajj Aakhaan Waris Shah nu," which poignantly reflects her deep anguish over a tragic historical event in 1947.
What is the name of this writer, and what is the historical event that inspired her poem?
2. General:
In 1963, a Worcester-based insurance company sought to boost employee morale. To achieve this, they commissioned a freelance artist who, in just ten minutes, created an image that radiated positivity and became instantly recognizable.
Although the artist was paid only $240 for this design, it went on to achieve iconic status, selling millions of buttons and appearing on a wide array of products during the 1970s. After its initial popularity waned by the mid-1970s, the image made a remarkable comeback in the late 1980s, riding a wave of retro nostalgia. Now, it has transcended its humble beginnings, becoming a global symbol and a staple in digital communication.
What is this enduring icon?
3. Geography and Music:
This iconic record label owes its name to a portmanteau that reflects the nickname of the U.S. city where it was founded. As one of the first African American-owned labels, it played a crucial role in the racial integration of popular music. In the 1960s, it dominated the charts with 79 top-ten Billboard hits and shaped the careers of legendary artists like The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye.
The city is also known for its contributions to jazz, techno, and architecture and has been designated a "City of Design" by UNESCO.
What is the name of this legendary record label that forever changed the sound of soul music and the name of the city?
Fun Facts:
Did you know that Rani Ki Vav, a stunning 11th-century stepwell in Patan, Gujarat, is not just a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also a masterpiece of medieval engineering and art? It’s like an underground palace! Adorned with intricate carvings of gods, goddesses, and everyday life, this stepwell wasn’t just a water source—it was a community hangout spot for gatherings and rituals. A true marvel of ancient India’s creativity and craftsmanship!
At the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival, guitarist Jimi Hendrix took “The Star-Spangled Banner” to a whole new level. With over 400,000 people watching, he turned the patriotic anthem into a raw, electrifying soundscape. Using heavy distortion, feedback, and his signature guitar mastery, Hendrix transformed the anthem’s melody into sounds resembling bombs, sirens, and gunfire—reflecting the turmoil and division of the Vietnam War era.
This unique rendition wasn’t labeled as a protest, but it’s since been seen as a powerful commentary on the state of the nation, challenging traditional patriotism and pushing the boundaries of musical expression. Woodstock may have been about “peace and love,” but Hendrix’s performance reminded everyone of the harsh realities beyond the festival stage.

Hand:
In the stillness of the image lies a story beyond words—a weathered hand, marked by the delicate etchings of time, holds the essence of countless journeys. Each wrinkle is a silent chronicle of a life lived, a map of resilience, love, and unspoken wisdom.
Cradled gently by another, this hand becomes a symbol of connection—an unbreakable bond between generations, a reassurance that even as time fades, the spirit endures.
This photograph is not merely a moment frozen in time but a meditation on the beauty of human connection. It reminds us that every hand we hold carries its own universe, and in holding it, we honor a legacy, a life, and the shared humanity that ties us all together.
