Let's dive in…
Trivia’s:
1. Culture:
Matangi, a Hindu goddess and one of the ten Mahavidyas, is regarded as the Tantric form of Saraswati. Uniquely, she is associated with a practice that defies conventional rituals of reverence toward deities. Despite her divine status, Matangi is offered, an offering that seems contradictory to the typical practice of offerings.
Her legend revolves around challenging societal norms, and this unconventional offering symbolizes humility, acceptance, and a deeper connection with the divine. Followers believe that by presenting this offering, they acknowledge their own imperfections and renounce material attachments.
What offering is Matangi offered?
Hint- Matangi is often associated with pollution, and things which are considered impure in Hinduism.
2. History:
It is almost unnatural to imagine our photographs without X, however it is only a recent phenomenon. The beginnings of photography in the 1820s until early 20th century were marked with an absence of X. Historians attribute to two different reasons. First, the widespread poor ______(6) health created an aesthetic issue and therefore X were best kept hidden.
A second reason was that since the exposure was so long (the fastest camera in 1839 took 15 minutes to take a photograph) it was recommended to the subject to take a position that would be comfortable for long periods of time.Identify X.
3. Science and Business:
In 1996, a gene named ____(4) was discovered in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Scientists found that this gene played a key role in stopping cancer cells from spreading, much like how a ____(4) can seal something in place. Later, researchers also identified that it wasn't just the gene itself but its receptor that helped suppress the spread of cancer cells, making it a sweet success in cancer research!
