A great Carthaginian general, surprised the Roman Republic by leading his army across a mountain range during the Second Punic War. This move not only disrupted Roman defenses but also included a unique and terrifying weapon – a contingent of massive, armored creatures historically known for their trumpeting fury. While these living battering rams instilled fear and chaos in enemy ranks initially, the Romans, ever resourceful, developed effective counters, turning the tide of battle.

Fun Facts:
In the mid-1990s, Bharat Bala, a rising star in advertising, was challenged by his freedom fighter father to "sell India to Indians" instead of just selling soap. Inspired, Bala teamed up with his friend A.R. Rahman and lyricist Mehboob created a patriotic song that young people would actually sing, not just respect. Mehboob wrote "Maa Tujhe Salaam," capturing the essence of new India, and "Yahan Vahan Saara Jahan," speaking to the love NRIs have for their homeland.
With the album ready, Rahman and Bala presented it at a Sony Music conference in Manila. Sridhar Subramaniam, Sony Music India's marketing director, knew it was a hit and secured the rights. Released just two days before India's 50th Independence Day in 1997, the album became an instant sensation, selling 500,000 cassettes in one week and 1.5 million copies overall. This marked the arrival of new India in style.

Subhas Chandra Bose Statue at India Gate:
It stands as a tribute to one of India's most prominent freedom fighters. The statue is crafted from Krushna Shila, a type of black granite sourced from Telangana. The statue was designed and sculpted by renowned artist Adwaita Gadanayak, the Director-General of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA). Positioned under the canopy that once housed the statue of King George V, it now symbolizes India's shift from colonial rule to independence. The statue was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8, 2022. This statue is not just a piece of art but a symbol of India's resilience, strength, and unyielding spirit in the face of oppression.
