Happy New Year!
This marks the first edition of 2025, and I’m thrilled to celebrate one amazing year of Trivia Tales! Exactly a year ago, TriviaTales embarked on this journey, delivering over 50 editions on every Saturday.
However, I’m reaching out with an unexpected challenge. While working on the newsletter dashboard, a technical issue caused me to lose my entire subscriber list.
I’d truly appreciate your support in rebuilding this community. If you’ve enjoyed Trivia Tales or know someone who would love a weekly dose of fascinating trivia, please share this link with them: Link
Your help means the world to me as I strive to keep this passion alive. Thank you for being a part of this journey! Here's to another year of curiosity and wonder.
2. General:
Used by millions worldwide, this tactile system originated as "night writing," created by Charles Barbier for soldiers to communicate silently. Its initial version faced issues like representing sounds instead of letters, requiring multiple finger movements, and lacking numerals and punctuation. A young French inventor addressed these flaws, redesigning it into a 6-dot cell system that represents letters, numerals, and punctuation. Initially a transliteration of the French alphabet, it later evolved into a system with abbreviations and logograms.

Photograph of the Day:
Thirst:
A poor man, a plastic garbage collector, quenching his thirst—his weathered face tells stories of hardship, resilience, and a life lived on the fringes. This simple act of drinking water, so ordinary for many, becomes a symbol of survival and dignity.
Yet, his thirst runs deeper—a thirst for respect in a world that overlooks him, for equality in a divided society, and for belonging in spaces that exclude the marginalized. The discarded plastic he collects, his lifeline, symbolizes how those cast aside repurpose the remnants of humanity to endure.
This photograph, first featured in my newsletter’s inaugural edition, returns as the new year begins—not just as an image, but as a reminder to reflect on the universal thirst for meaning, equity, and compassion.
